Modern love stories don’t always begin with a chance encounter in a coffee shop or a fleeting moment across a crowded room. For Abbie and Michael, it all started with a simple online match that quickly grew into something truly special. Their connection blossomed into an unbreakable bond, which was made official in spectacular style in New York City. On 29th November 2022, at the top of The Edge overlooking Manhattan, Michael asked Abbie to spend forever with him.

When searching for their perfect venue, The Willows ticked every box for the couple. They wanted an intimate local setting with incredible food, a welcoming team, and plenty of space to celebrate with family and friends. The venue’s rustic décor provided a beautiful backdrop for their day, while the on-site suites allowed the wedding party to relax and enjoy every moment from start to finish.

Abbie and Michael’s wedding day was filled with meaningful moments that perfectly reflected their love story. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds took some quiet time together in the grounds of The Willows, where they captured beautiful photographs to treasure forever. Alongside their photographer, Abbie and Michael also chose a mirror photo booth, giving guests the chance to capture personal, fun memories throughout the evening to create a guest book.
The wedding breakfast created another special moment, bringing loved ones together to share conversation, laughter and exceptional food in a stunning setting. As the day unfolded seamlessly, the evening celebrations brought a more relaxed atmosphere, with the couple dancing the night away surrounded by family and friends.

Having previously dined at The Woodmans Arms, Abbie and Michael arrived with high expectations for their wedding breakfast, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
Abbie chose tomato soup to start, followed by chicken supreme, before finishing with her favourite dessert: the signature sticky toffee pudding. Michael opted for the Parma ham and goat’s cheese tart, followed by medium-rare sirloin beef and, of course, sticky toffee pudding to finish.

Abbie looked stunning in a lace-detailed gown featuring an A-line skirt and plunge neckline. With delicate sparkle throughout, the dress from Rosa Bridal was beautifully tailored by Corsetry & Couture in South Shields to create the perfect fit for her special day.
Michael wore a light grey two-piece suit from Suit Direct, styled with a crisp white shirt and classic white tie. Subtle brown detailing on the blazer added a soft, summery touch that complemented the season perfectly.
The bridesmaids embraced a mismatched style, with looks ranging from halter-neck dresses and sweetheart necklines to a chic trouser suit ensemble. The coordinated fabric palette brought the looks together beautifully, while allowing each bridesmaid to feel comfortable and confident in their individual style.
The couple’s looks were completed perfectly by their floral arrangements. Abbie carried a stunning bouquet of pastel blooms that added a soft springtime feel, while Michael’s pocket floral arrangement tied the entire wedding party’s styling together effortlessly.

The couple’s floral arrangements were created by Jasmine and Pear, whose stunning designs became one of the standout details of the day. Guests continually commented on how beautiful the flowers were, from the soft pastel bouquets to the carefully considered finishing touches throughout the venue.
One detail Abbie especially loved was the florist’s suggestion of pocket flowers for the groom in place of a traditional boutonniere. The unique touch drew compliments throughout the day for being both modern and elegant. Abbie’s vision was brought to life perfectly while Jasmine and Pear also provided exceptional communication and support throughout the planning process, making the experience seamless from beginning to end.

From organising group photographs with ease to blending naturally into the background during quieter moments, Josh ensured every part of the celebration was documented beautifully. The result was a collection of timeless images that reflected the atmosphere and emotion of the day.
When it came to styling the bridal party, Love Rare Bridal went above and beyond to create something truly special. One of Abbie’s bridesmaids didn’t feel comfortable wearing a dress, and with a lilac colour scheme proving difficult to match on the high street, Abbie contacted Jade and Rita at Love Rare Bridal knowing they could create something perfect.
Working from the colour swatch of the bridesmaids’ dresses, the team created a beautifully tailored waistcoat and trouser set in an almost identical shade. Their dedication, creativity and reassurance throughout the process made the experience effortless, resulting in a bespoke look that fit seamlessly alongside the rest of the bridal party.
