Ruby and Aidan’s love story is one that feels written in the stars. Built on perfect timing, lifelong connection and a little bit of fate. Some may say Aidan first fell in love with Ruby’s puppy rather than Ruby herself, but whichever came first, there’s no denying the two were destined to find one another.
With brothers who had been best friends for years, Ruby and Aidan had always been part of each other’s lives. What began as a long-standing friendship soon turned into something much deeper after Ruby shared a video of her puppy online and caught Aidan’s attention. Still unsure if he was in love with the puppy or Ruby, one date became a life together!
On a romantic getaway to Gran Caneria, Aidan asked Ruby to marry him during a beautiful sunrise on 30th August 2022. It was the perfect beginning to the next chapter of their story.

From the moment they arrived at The Willows, Ruby and Aidan could picture their wedding day unfolding there. The venue’s rustic charm, with its exposed wooden beams, soft greenery and statement fireplace, created the warm and romantic atmosphere they had always dreamed of. Surrounded by beautiful countryside views stretching across the city, it felt peaceful, intimate, and undeniably special.
After visiting several venues, finding The Willows felt effortless, as though everything had finally fallen into place. From the simplicity of the pricing structure to the reassurance of the experienced wedding team, the couple instantly felt at ease knowing their day was in safe hands.

Aidan and Ruby’s wedding day was full of incredible moments. One of the most unforgettable came as Ruby stepped into the ceremony room for the very first time. After 18 months spent carefully planning every detail of the décor and styling, seeing her vision brought to life was an incredibly emotional moment. Having set everything up the day before allowed the couple to enjoy a calm and relaxed morning together, but nothing could compare to seeing the room filled with gorgeous florals and all the people they loved most.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds escaped into the fields with their photographer to capture sunset portraits together. Away from the excitement of the celebrations, they were able to pause, soak in the moment and simply be together as husband and wife. Bathed in golden evening light, the photographs captured not only how beautiful the day looked, but how our happy couple truly felt – joyful, emotional and full of love as they began forever together.

For Ruby and Aidan, the wedding breakfast was one of the most important parts of their day. More than simply sitting down for a meal, it was an opportunity to celebrate with their closest family and friends over incredible food and great company.
Wanting to ensure every guest enjoyed their dining experience, the couple chose to offer three dishes for guests to select from for each course. The Willows accommodated the request without hesitation or any additional cost, something that meant a great deal to the couple and reinforced why they had chosen the venue in the first place.
Ruby’s personal favourites from the menu were the belly pork and sticky toffee pudding, while many guests complimented the sirloin of beef and commented on the exceptional quality of the food. Beautifully presented and made using high-quality ingredients, the wedding breakfast became a memorable part of the day, exactly as the couple had hoped.
In the evening, the celebrations continued with an elevated buffet featuring mini versions of The Woodmans’ award-winning pies, served with peas, chips and gravy. The hearty evening food was the perfect way to keep guests fuelled for a night full of dancing, laughter, and celebration.

Ruby chose a playful yet elegant gown from The Wedding Dress Company in Corbridge. Featuring a deep plunging neckline, dramatic balloon sleeves draped delicately off the shoulders and a full layered skirt complete with a sweeping train, the dress perfectly balanced romance and modern style. She completed the look with a statement headband, a sleek low bun and a veil that complemented the gown beautifully.
Aidan opted for a classic three-piece grey suit from Moss Bros, paired with a black bow tie for a timeless finish. The horseshoe detailing on the waistcoat added a touch of personality, while the floral pocket detailing tied his look seamlessly together with Ruby’s bridal styling.

Under The Ivy brought Ruby’s dream wedding bouquets to life with floral arrangements that were even better than she’d imagined. Having chosen a venue that was already beautiful, our bride simply hoped to add some personality and pops of colour; Rebecca created stunning pink and red arrangements with some soft green foliage.
