If there was ever a doubt about the phrase love conquers all, the story of the Olivers shows there’s always a way.
While working at Matalan in their teenage years, Dean and Sarah locked eyes between aisles. The couple fell madly in love and thirteen years later (to the day), they decided it was finally time to tie the knot. In fairytale fashion, Dean popped the question in Edinburgh on Sarah’s birthday, rounding off a perfect day away.
The perfect spring wedding venue
For Sarah and Dean The Willows at the Woodmans was fate. After four date changes and a pandemic, which ultimately lead to their original venue closing, this soon-to-be-married couple couldn’t wait any longer.
“As soon as I walked through the doors I knew it was for us, the staff, the venue, the views!”
The gorgeous sunny weather of this spring wedding allowed the midday celebrations to be shared outside. Natural green touches added an element of raw beauty to this wedding destination hidden in the outskirts of the city. With delicate candlelight beaming from the brick fireplace, a scattering of flowers and petals up the aisle and on each table, the natural beauty of the venue shone through whilst this happy couple managed to make the place their own. The Willows At The Woodmans was the dream destination for The Olivers.
“the staff were amazing… They were always there at the end of an email to reassure or help you.”
While the typical focus of a bride may be the look of their dress, for Sarah comfort was the key as she wanted to ensure she was able to walk down the aisle and dance the night away. The deep plunging neckline was complemented elegantly by her up do by MEIA; the more traditional lace detail of the bodice was juxtaposed with a fit and flare silhouette that kept the bottom of the dress simply chic.
Sarah’s elevated look was executed by her stunning one of a kind dress and her amazing team at MEIA. Sarah commented that “Our gorgeous Hair & Makeup ladies were amazing, not only did they do a great job of making us all look our best they made our morning so relaxed and stress free. Georgia & Diane you are the best!!”
Our newly-weds’ evening ran smoothly as they danced the night away in each other’s arms…“As soon as the DJ started I don’t think I stopped dancing (all thanks to my dance partner Oliver), I don’t think we sat down at all.”
For the foodies
Food lovers of the world could never have been left disappointed by the meals on this couple’s special day. To quote Sarah, the food was “outstanding”; our bride was head over heels for the chicken liver parfait starter whilst her husband fell for the lamb dinner. The wedding breakfast was raved about by guests which was extremely important for the hosts.
