Steph & Stephen’s Intimate Wedding

How It All Began

Like many modern love stories, Steph and Stephen’s journey began online. After meeting on a dating site, the pair quickly realised there was something special between them and their relationship quickly blossomed from there.

Their love story reached a new chapter in April 2022, when Stephen proposed during a trip to Edinburgh. With the beautiful Scottish city providing the perfect romantic backdrop, Steph said yes and the couple began planning a celebration that would bring together all the people they love most.

The Wedding Venue

When it came to choosing their venue, the decision was an easy one. The first place they viewed was The Willows and it instantly felt like the perfect fit.

Living just five minutes away, the couple already had a special connection to the area and often spent time together at The Woodmans Arms. The convenient location made it ideal for both them and their guests, but it was the intimate and welcoming atmosphere that truly won them over.

With its beautiful interiors and everything they needed all in one charming space, The Willows offered exactly the kind of relaxed and personal setting they had envisioned for their wedding day. One of the most special touches of all was that their beloved dog, Lottie, could be part of the celebrations too.

Memorable Wedding Day Moments

Steph and Stephen’s wedding day unfolded in the most magical way, with a calm and joyful atmosphere from beginning to end that made the entire day feel unforgettable. From welcoming their favourite people to enjoying incredible food and dancing late into the evening, every moment felt special for the newlyweds.

For Steph, the day carried even deeper meaning. Having once struggled to imagine this moment ever arriving, walking down the aisle surrounded by family and friends became an incredibly emotional and significant milestone in her life. The support and reassurance she received from Fiona and Kayleigh just before the ceremony made the moment even more memorable.

Later in the evening, the celebrations took a wonderfully playful turn with the arrival of Stephen’s Pac-Man suit, a fun surprise that brought endless laughter and added a unique touch to the party atmosphere.

The Wedding Breakfast

Already huge fans of The Woodmans’ food, Steph and Stephen knew the wedding breakfast would be a highlight of the day and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Guests were still talking about the delicious food long after the celebrations had ended.

Steph chose tomato soup to start, followed by a traditional chicken dinner and chocolate profiteroles for dessert. The soup quickly became her standout dish of the day. Stephen opted for garlic bread, a hearty beef dinner and apple strudel to finish, a combination he thoroughly enjoyed.

The incredible food, paired with the warm and relaxed atmosphere, created the perfect opportunity for guests to slow down, catch up and celebrate the happy couple together.

The Wedding Dress & The Suit

Steph found her dream dress at Wed2B. Featuring a lace bodice and full skirt, she instantly fell in love with its delicate detailing and timeless elegance. The gown perfectly balanced intricate embellishment with a clean and classic silhouette. Her favourite feature, however, was the pockets which added a playful yet practical detail as well as even more personality to her bridal look.

Stephen chose a three-piece navy checked suit from Moss Bros, pairing it with a crisp white shirt, pale pink tie and matching pocket square. The soft tones complemented the bridal bouquet beautifully, as well as his own boutonniere, tying the overall look of the day together perfectly.

Supplier Spotlight

Wedding singer Charlie Whyte performed an incredible set throughout the day, carefully choosing songs that held special meaning for Steph and Stephen. Guests thoroughly enjoyed every performance, but one particularly emotional moment came during his heartfelt rendition of Sweet Caroline, performed in memory of Steph’s mum. It was a touching tribute that meant so much to the couple and created a truly memorable moment for everyone there.

Another fantastic addition to the celebrations was the photo booth provided by Studio Social North. The fun-filled experience gave guests the chance to capture even more special memories throughout the day, bringing plenty of laughter and creating keepsakes the couple and their loved ones can look back on for years to come.
