The Willows at The Woodmans in Whickham has scooped up prestigious honours at the North of England Wedding Awards 2024 for the second year running.
Presented with the Wedding Catering trophy, The Willows at The Woodmans saw off stiff competition to claim the title as best wedding caterers in the north of England.
The award comes as part of a bumper night for the organisation which was also listed as a finalist in both the Countryside Venue of the Year and Wedding Coordinator of the Year categories.
There were record entries across 24 categories, with the scrutinous judging process based solely on real feedback from past brides & grooms who had wed at the venue. Couples were asked to comment on their venue’s standard of customer service, quality of product and value for money before offering insights on instances where they feel the venue went above and beyond to ensure their wedding day was flawless. Feedback was then accumulated and common topics totted up, placing the venue among the best in class for three categories on the night.

We love food and constantly receive amazing feedback from couples and their guests so for them to be publicly rewarded is nothing less than they deserve!”
The Willows at The Woodmans shares its kitchen with adjoining award-winning gastropub, The Woodmans Arms. David Whitehead, owner of both venues said “I’m absolutely overjoyed for our fantastic kitchen team! Out all the awards, this was the one I wanted the most for the guys. There aren’t enough wedding venues that emphasise the quality and execution of the food they serve. I’m incredibly proud this is something the Willows can shout about!”
